Don’t punish Bawumia for the sins of others – Upper West Reg. Minister to Ghanaians

Upper West Regional Minister, Dr Bin Salih Hafiz has appealed to the delegates of the governing New Patriotic Party NPP and especially, Ghanaians to vote for the vice president, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, asking that they should not reject him as a punishment because of others.

Dr Bin Salih made the comments at the opening ceremony of campaign office in the region for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia who is a lead contender in the NPP flagbearership race slated for November 4 this year.

“Don’t punish Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia with the sins of any other person or with idea that some others may benefit more from his leadership”, Dr Bin Salih Hafiz said today’s Tuesday, October 2.

According to the Upper West Regional minister, they are not supporting the veep because he is a Northerner, but because of his competence demonstrated before the 2016 elections and in government under President Akufo-Addo.

“We are not supporting DMB because he is a northerner but because of his dedicated and results oriented service”, he stated.

At the event, the Upper West regional organiser of the NPP, Capo Alaska who was supporting the former agric minister in the race, Dr. Akoto Afrie pledged his support for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

So far, only are contesting for the position to lead the NPP into 2024 elections to “break the 8” despite the comments by the a section of Ghanaians that the economic situation won’t make it possible.

They are the vice president, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Assin Central Constituency MP, Kennedy Agyapong, former agric minister, Dr. Akoto Afrie Osei and Francis Adai-Nimoh.
