Former constituency chairman for NPP in Yendi, Alhaji Amadu Inusah Dagomba has said he has the party at heart, and does not intend doing anything to destroy it in the area, despite current situation the NPP finds it.

He said this on radio Tamale’s newspaper review programme dubbed Ashahara Nye Dini today Wednesday, January 31 when he was reacting to comments by NDC’s Dr. Seidu Fiter that he, Alhaji Dagomba campaigned against the late Aliu Mahama.

According to him, he has been misunderstood to be a bad person who is using his influence to further deepen the crack with the NPP in the Yendi constituency.

“It is not true that I supported Akufo-Addo against Aliu Mahama when the 2 were vying for the position NPP 2008 flagbearer. I was not even in Ghana. And I have evidence and witnesses to back what I am saying”, Alhaji Dagomba Boy said.

When asked if he is against the candidature of the MP because of the latter’s actions after the former was defeated in the Regional Chairmanship contest, he answered, “No! I want the best for the NPP in Yendi. And I will be the last person to cause the party’s defeat.”

He added that the matters arising from the recent parliamentary primaries is not anything to lead the NPP party into opposition, stating that they have not gotten to a place where the party should rush for resolution.

The former regional chairman aspirant said sometimes he speaks to awaken the party to issues he believes can derail their chances, but he is not taken serious and misunderstood to mean he harbors ill-feeling against them.
