Polling Station executives of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Mion Constituency are asking the deputy Chief Executive Officer of the forestry commission who doubles as parliamentary candidate in the party upcoming primaries to show proof of his support for the people.

They said this when they were interacting with radio Tamale’s Yelvuhi Dundongni host, Abdul Shakur Omae in the capital of Mion, Sang tonight, January 25 as the primaries approaches.

“The MP has spent less than four years in parliament, but he has been able to secure jobs for party supporters in the constituency. You Mr. A or Mr. B, tell us whom you have secured job for under your office as forestry commission deputy CEO”, some of the delegates asked the MP’s contender, Iddrisu Musah Superior.

“You have been there long before Ayaba became MP. You were part of the first lucky ones the President Akufo-Addo appointed in his first term. Did you remember us in the Mion Constituency?”, they asked again.

The incumbent, Mr. Aziz Musah Ayaba won the seat for the NPP for the first time since it was created in 1992, and has since been declared as NDC stronghold.

He is facing a tough opposition from the former Tamale Metro Mayor, who declared his intentions to contest the seat following the party’s official announcement to open nominations last year.

The parliamentary primaries is slated for January 27 this year.
