Karaga : Anta connects 81 communities to national grid, to attain 100 % electricity coverage

Member of Parliament (MP) for Karaga constituency, Dr. Amin Adam Anta will in the coming days connect about eleven (11) communities to national grid, making it eighty one (81) communities has connected in three (3) years.

This was revealed by the district chief executive for the area, Iddrisu Mohammed Saani in an interview with Majority Radio’s Elee Waala on “Voice of NPP” on yesterday Saturday, October 7.

According to the DCE, some of the remaining communities are Namon 3 and Lantaa among others which are under a community called Blaa-lugli.

He said only two (2) Konkomba communities had light when Dr. Anta took over from took over from the opposition NDC’s MP, Alhassan Sualihu Dandawa in 2020, adding that all the Konkomba communities are now with electricity.

“But for Dr. Anta, my own hometown, Tatalgu would have been 100 years without electricity. But due to commitment and willingness to develop Karaga, it has been connected to the national grid. And my people can now feel that they did not waste their votes”, he stated.

Mr. Saani also used the opportunity to disclose that the MP will going unopposed in the upcoming parliamentary primaries in the constituency, emphasizing that the entire constituency is satisfied with his performance.

“Karaga is satisfied with Anta’s performance as MP, there won’t be contest in the upcoming parliamentary primaries in Karaga. What he has done so far is unmatched. And we can simply say our prayers have been answered by God for bringing him to us”, the DCE told the host.

He concluded by saying that when it comes to other sectors, the MP is doing extremely well too, but electricity is not something that can become a hurdle in his way as he discharges his duties.

In May this year, the MP connected 10 communities to the national electricity grid, and the were ; Nanyuuni, Naatigu, Tindang, Kutigu, Tuugbini, Gbinjaga, Zenyei, Kumbulugu, Gulugu and Kunkung.

“10 more communities to reach 100% coverage. Contractors working hard to reach the milestone. Thanks to Mr. President, His Excellency Nana Akufo-Addo.”, he wrote on Facebook.
