The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Northern Region has responded to the recent press conference by the governing New Patriotic Patty (NPP) on the purported attack by the NDC General Secretary, Fiifi Kwetey on the person of the vice president, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, saying the veep has not lived his life as a true northerner.

In a press release copied to dominancetv.com, signed by the NDC’s regional secretary, Mohammed Abdul Salam, the NDC said, “Every Ghanaian irrespective of their ethnic extraction has been thought to learn to be humble, accept responsibility for their failings or transgressions and most importantly say the simple words- ‘I am sorry'”.

“Bawumia has been a bad example of a northerner. In 2018, he gave expired rice and oil to victims of the Bagre dam flood. It is the height of depravity for anyone to take political advantage of his own people in trying times. Therefore, the characterization of him by the General Secretary is the ugly truth”, the statement added.
