The Savelugu NPP Constituency Chairman, Alhaji Alhassan Saani popularly known as Chairman Japanese has told supporters of the former MP, Alhaji Mohammed Samed Gunu to leave the party, if they want.

Speaking on radio Tamale’s evening political talkshow dubbed – Yelvuhi Dundongni yesterday’s evening, April 30, he emphasized that he and his colleague executives will not beg the Gunu supporters to stay in the NPP, if they choose  not to be members, adding that they can leave.

“The party doesn’t belong to anyone. Anybody who wants can come. I am doing everything to bring everyone onboard. We are not going to beg anybody. I am not aware of any fight between us, but if they think there’s a fight between us, then that is their problem…”, chairman Japanese told the host.

He was responding to allegations by former constituency deputy secretary, Abubakari Bawa who appeared on the show to register his displeasure regarding the attitude of the NPP parliamentary candidate, Hajia Fatahia Aziz towards the party members.

Mr. Bawa alleged that the constituency chairman sacked the party’s director of IT, because he declared his aupport for Samed Gunu who contested against the PC in the last parliamentary primaries.

In his response, the chairman confirmed the statement, adding that he did that because the former IT director was an agent for the defeated Samed Gunu during the primaries.
