Some electorates numbering 25 in the Sagnarigu Constituency have rained curses on one Alhaji Alhassan Hamza, alleging that he lured them into travelling all the way to Wulensi constituency in the name getting them jobs, only to be told to transfer their votes therein.

They revealed this when they were speaking to the media today’s Sunday, June 2 after they were brought back following the intervention by the Sagnarigu National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate, Atta Issah.

“We were contacted by Alhaji Alhassan Hamza in Sagnarigu. We know he is an NPP. He told us he was going to help us get jobs in Wulensi. But when we arrived, he rather told us that we should transfer our votes to Wulensi. But we said no. Because we are not natives of this place”, one the boys, Abdul Mujeeb said.

“We didn’t know the purpose was to receive us to transfer our votes. If we knew about it, we wouldn’t listen to them. But we are disappointed in Alhaji Alhassan Hamza. God will judge him for us…”, Lamnatu Imoro, a pregnant woman among them also said.

The voter transfer business appears to be getting so much attention in the Tamale, which some political watchers say is affecting the Tamale South, Sagnarigu and Tamale Central and Sagnarigu constituencies.

There has been evidence of many constituencies using money to mure potential voters from Tamale to neighboring constituencies to sore up their votes there.
