Yendi NPP on time bomb, as Abibata supporters warn party over imposing Farouk on them

Supporters of NPP Parliamentary aspiring Candidate for Yendi Constituency, Hajia Abibata Shani Mahama have threatened to file an independent candidate for Yendi if National Executive Council of the party fails to call for fresh elections in the Yendi constituency.

According to the MASLOC CEO supporters, the NPP Parliamentary elections that took place in the Yendi constituency had not produced a winner hence there must be a re-run to determine a clear cut winner of the contest.

The Supporters of Hajia Abibata have issued a week ultimatum to the National Executive Council and elections committee of the party to expedite action on the Yendi case before them, by calling for a re-run between the two contestants.

It would be called that the General Secretary of the NPP, Justin Frimpong Kodua in a press conference Yesterday in Accra Yesterday, disclosed that a 3 member committee has been constituted by NEC to look into the matter and report back to the decision making body of the Party to take decisive and appropriate action relative to the internal elections dispute in Yendi.

Having not satisfied with pronouncement of the leadership of party, Supporters of the aspiring candidate in the Yendi constituency led by Alhaji Mohammed Kpemsin noted that they will not sit aloof and allow the party leadership to dictate to them let alone impose a candidate on them ahead of the 2024 general polls.

Hence cautions the hierarchy of the party to hasten up with their decision with regards to the Yendi case more importantly rule for a re-run, to allow cooler heads prevail.

”We want to send a very strong Message to the National Chairman of the Party and leadership of NEC. Should they make any mistake, to impose a candidate on Yendi constituency, the party will regret it. We are not threatening the party nor threatening anybody in this party. We we want them to do the needful. Should NEC fail to listen to what we are saying after seven days, we will take a decision they cannot reverse”.

Alhaji Mohammed Kpemsin also blamed the General Secretary of the NPP for the current happenings within the constituency.

I’m asking the general Secretary. Would he be happy? when all forces were against you, we fought for you because we wanted justice. We wanted a commodity that can send us to 2024, if the count had not finished and they declared it to somebody would you be happy? Is the general secretary okay? you think we are small boys and you think we are joking? Dare us and we will let you know who we are.
