The Yendi NPP constituency executives have congratulated the incumbent MP, Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama for emerging victorious in the just ended parliamentary primaries, calling on his opponent, Hajia Abibata Saani Mahama to join to retain the seat for the party.

This was revealed in a statement released today Sunday, January 28, following the elections yesterday, January 27 and signed by the constituency secretary, Abdul Karim Nashiru.

“The leadership of the New Patriotic Party, Yendi wishes to extend a words of congratulation to Hon. Umar Farouk Aliu Mahama for emerging victorious in yesterday Parliamentary primary to represent the ticket of the party come 2024 presidential and Parliamentary elections”, the executives said.

According to them, the MP has worked tirelessly for the yesterday’s elections outcome, saying they acknowledge the “zeal, enthusiasm and the fortitude” that he puts in during the campaigns to emerge victorious”.

“The leadership also believes that with tenacity of purpose and committed unalloyed unity we shall break the 8 with you, Hon. Alhaji Umar Farouk Aliu as our true representative in the ninth parliament of the Fourth Republic and H E Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice-president of the Republic of Ghana as our next president”, the party stated.

“The leadership admonishes the victor and his supporters to celebrate their win with magnanimity and extend an olive branch to the losers to join the band wagon for as to come together as a unified force to
execute a robust campaign for 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections with an ultimate aim of retaining both the presidency and our seat in parliament”, it added.
